Jesus ArrestedThe Passion Play is performed each year on the Weekend before Easter (Palm Sunday Weekend) In Loudoun County Virginia.

The Purcellville Passion Play is a joint project of the people of many of the churches in western Loudoun County, Virginia. The play tells the story of Jesus’ last few days on earth - the powerful story of Good Friday and Easter. The play is presented outdoors in a re-created city of Jerusalem, with actors and audience moving together from scene to scene.

The play will go on, rain or shine. Please arrive a few minutes early to allow time for the walk from the parking areas to the performance area. Comfortable shoes are recommended for walking and in case the ground is damp.

2012 Performance Information

The 2012 Passion Play will be held on Palm Sunday, April 1 in Purcellville. The Play starts at 3:00 PM.

This year's performance is dedicated to the memory of Bill Druhan and Charlie Cockerill who together represented more than 40 years of participation in the Purcellville Passion Play.

Directions and Map

The performance site is at the intersection of:

East A street and Yaxley Drive, Purcellville, VA
(Behind Purcellville Baptist Church)

From Downtown Purcellville, head south on Maple Ave. Turn left on A Street. Follow A Street to the Passion Play Site.

From Leesburg, head west on Rt. 7 to the Purcellville (Rt. 287) exit. At the foot of the exit ramp, turn left on 287 and follow it to the dead end at Main St. (Business Rt. 7) Turn Right on Main Street and proceed to the second stop light - Maple Ave. Turn Left on Maple Ave. From Maple, turn left on A Street. Follow A Street to the Passion Play Site.
